Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious; 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
