What aileth those who disbelieve, that they keep staring toward thee (O Muhammad), open-eyed, 36 towards thee on the right hand and on the left hand in knots? 37 Does every one of them wish to enter the garden of tranquility? 38 Never! For, behold, We have created them out of something that they know [only too well]! 39 But nay! I call to witness the Lord of the Easts and the Wests, that We have the power 40 to replace them with [people] better than they are; for there is nothing to prevent Us [from doing what We will]. 41 So leave them to engage in vain talk and to amuse themselves until they come face to face with the Day which they are promised, 42 The Day whereon they shall come forth from the sepulchres hastily, as though they were to an altar hurrying. 43 Downcast shall be their looks; abjectness shall overspread them. Such is the Day which they are promised. 44
