The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality). 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 But no; (how would he not revert)? His Lord was ever watching him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
