Al-A 'araaf 12 of 24
We have sent no Prophet to any city but that We seized its people with misery and hardship, that haply they might be humble; 94 Then We exchanged in place of the bad [condition], good, until they increased [and prospered] and said, "Our fathers [also] were touched with hardship and ease." So We seized them suddenly while they did not perceive. 95 Had the people of the towns believed (in Our revelations) and maintained piety, We would have certainly showered on them Our blessings from the sky and the earth. But they called Our revelations lies, thus Our torment struck them for their evil deeds. 96 Then, did the people of the cities feel secure from Our punishment coming to them at night while they were asleep? 97 Do the people of the cities feel secure Our might shall not come upon them in daylight while they are playing? 98 Then did they feel secure from the plan of Allah? But no one feels secure from the plan of Allah except the losing people. 99

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
