The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 And when the books are spread, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 and brightening morning, 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
