The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

WOE TO EVERY slanderer, back-biter, 1 Who amasses wealth and considers it a provision (against mishap); 2 thinking his riches have made him immortal! 3 Nay, he shall be thrown into the Crusher. 4 And what do you know what the Crusher is? 5 The Fire of God kindled 6 Which will climb on to the hearts. 7 Verily it will close in upon them, 8 in extended columns. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
