The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Ta Sin Mim. 1 These are the verses of the illustrious Book. 2 Wouldst thou, perhaps, torment thyself to death [with grief] because they [who live around thee] refuse to believe [in it]? 3 But if We had so willed, We could have sent down to them a sign from the heavens so that their heads would be bowed down before it in utter humility. 4 A fresh remembrance has never come to them from the Merciful, except they turn away from it. 5 So they have cried lies; therefore assuredly tidings will come to them of that they mocked at. 6 Do they not see the earth, how We grow all kinds of noble things upon it? 7 Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers. 8 And verily, thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 9
