The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) ranged in ranks (or rows). 1 And those who drive [the clouds] 2 By those (angels) who bring the Book and the Quran from Allah to mankind [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]. 3 Verily your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth, and all that is between them, and Lord of every point of the sun's risings. (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah). 5 Indeed, We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment of stars 6 and to preserve against every rebel Satan; 7 They cannot listen to the Highest Chiefs for they are pelted from every side, 8 Repulsed, for they are under a perpetual penalty, 9 Some of them who stealthily steal words from the heavens are pursued by a glistening flame. 10 (Muhammad), ask them, "Have they (people) been created stronger than what We have created?" We have created them from moist clay. 11 Nay, but whereas thou dost marvel, they [only] scoff; 12 and when they are reminded [of the truth,] they refuse to take it to heart; 13 and when they see a miracle, they mock 14 And say, "This is not but obvious magic. 15 When we have become dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then verily be raised? 16 And so also shall our forefathers of yore be raised to life?” 17 Say thou: and verily ye; shall then be despicable. 18 There will be a single stern rebuff and lo, they will be observing with their own eyes (all that they had been warned against). 19 They will say, "O woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense." 20 This is the Day of Decision which you belied. 21
