Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah was certainly a Messenger. 139 When he ran away to a ship completely laden, 140 and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast). 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 Had he not been one of those who struggled hard, 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ We then put him ashore on a plain, and he was sick. 145 And We caused a plant of gourd to grow over him. 146 And We had sent him to a hundred thousand: rather they exceeded. 147 and they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or did We make the angels females, and they witnessed it? 150 Pay heed! It is their slander that they say. 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 Did He choose daughters rather than sons? 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Do you have any clear authority for such claims? 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 Glorified be Allah from that which they attribute (unto Him), 159 except the servants of God, sincere and devoted. 160 But as for you, and that you worship, 161 Can tempt anyone to rebel against Him. 162 except him who shall roast in the Blazing Fire. 163 There is not one of us but hath his known position. 164 And most surely we are they who draw themselves out in ranks, 165 And we are most surely they who declare the glory (of Allah). 166 And there were those who said, 167 “If only we had the Reminder which had been granted to the people of yore 168 we would surely have been Allah's chosen servants.” 169 But (now) they disbelieve in it, so they will come to know. 170 And, verily, Our Word has gone forth of old for Our slaves, the Messengers, 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 and Our armies shall be the victors. 173 So, (O Prophet), leave them alone for a while, 174 And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. 175 Do they seek to hasten on Our Torment? 176 When that chastisement will descend upon their courtyard, evil shall that Day be for those who had been warned. 177 So turn away from them for a time 178 And (then) see, for they too shall see. 179 Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, above what they describe. 180 And Peace on the messengers! 181 and praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
