Then said he who believed, 'My people, follow me, and I will guide you in the way of rectitude. 38 “O my people! The life of this world is just a brief usage, and indeed the next abode is one of everlasting stay.” 39 Whoever does an evil, he shall not be recompensed (with aught) but the like of it, and whoever does good, whether male or female, and he is a believer, these shall enter the garden, in which they shall be given sustenance without measure. 40 ۞ “And O my people! What is the matter with me that I call you towards salvation whereas you call me towards hell?” 41 you call me to deny Allah and to associate with Him as His partners those regarding whom I have no knowledge (that they are Allah's partners in His Divinity), whereas I call you to the Most Mighty, the Most Forgiving? 42 Assuredly, that to which you invite me has no [response to a] supplication in this world or in the Hereafter; and indeed, our return is to Allah, and indeed, the transgressors will be companions of the Fire. 43 Soon you will remember what I say to you! I shall entrust my affair to God, for God is observant of all [His] servants." 44 So Allah protected him from the evils they plotted, and the people of Pharaoh were enveloped by the worst of punishment - 45 The fire; they shall be brought before it (every) morning and evening and on the day when the hour shall come to pass: Make Firon's people enter the severest chastisement. 46 And, when they will dispute in the Fire, the weak will say to those who were arrogant; "Verily! We followed you, can you then take from us some portion of the Fire?" 47 Those who had been arrogant will say: "We are all in this (Fire)! Truly, Allah has judged between (his) Servants!" 48 And those who are in the fire shall say to the keepers of hell: Call upon your Lord that He may lighten to us one day of the punishment. 49 They will say: "Did there not come to you your messengers with Clear Signs?" They will say, "Yes". They will reply, "Then pray (as ye like)! But the prayer of those without Faith is nothing but (futile wandering) in (mazes of) error!" 50
