The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
