The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your Lord who created, 1 Created man from a clot. 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 taught Man that he knew not. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 Surely! Unto your Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Have you seen if he denies and turns away - 13 Knows he not that Allah does see (what he does)? 14 No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock - 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ 19
