Then, when the Messengers (the angels) came unto the family of Lout (Lot). 61 He said: Surely you are an unknown people. 62 'No' they replied: 'We bring you (news) of that concerning which they were doubting. 63 “And we have brought to you a true command, and indeed we are truthful.” 64 Therefore go forth with your followers in a part of the night and yourself follow their rear, and let not any one of you turn round, and go forth whither you are commanded. 65 And We decreed for him that commandment, that the last remnant of those should be cut off in the morning. 66 And the people of the city came, rejoicing at the news (of new arrivals). 67 He said: verily these are my guests, so disgrace me not. 68 And fear Allah, and humiliate me not. 69 They said; Have we not forbidden you from (entertaining) anyone? 70 He said: "There are my daughters (to marry), if ye must act (so)." 71 By your life! they were blindly wandering on in their intoxication. 72 An explosion struck them at sunrise. 73 And We utterly confounded them, and We rained upon them stones of heated clay. 74 Verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 75 And the (cities were) right on the high-road. 76 Surely! Therein is indeed a sign for the believers. 77 The people of the Wood were also surely wrongdoers. 78 So We chastised them. The desolate locations of both communities lie on a well-known highway. 79
