The people of Noah rejected the messengers. 105 When their brother Noah said to them, "Will you have no fear of God? 106 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 107 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 108 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being; 109 Have fear of God and obey me." 110 ۞ They answered: "Shall we place our faith in thee, even though [only] the most abject [of people] follow thee?" 111 He said: "It is not for me to know what they were doing. 112 My Lord alone can bring them to account, if only you could understand, 113 And I am not one to drive away the believers. 114 I am naught but a warner manifest. 115 They said: If you desist not, O Nuh, you shall most certainly be of those stoned to death. 116 He said, 'My Lord, my people have cried me lies, 117 “Therefore make a decisive judgement between me and them, and rescue me and the believers along with me.” 118 We saved him and those who were with him in the laden ship, 119 and then We caused those who stayed behind to drown. 120 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 121 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 122
