The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He has created man: 3 and He has taught him the Explanation. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
