Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
