The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 When the earth is stretched out taut 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O man! verily thou art toiling toward thy Lord a painful toiling, and art about to meet Him. 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 will be easy, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
