Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 On that day the faces of some people will be humbly cast down, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 in a garden sublime, 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 And goblets set at hand 14 And arranged carpets. 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26
God the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
