O Prophet! Command your wives and your daughters and the women of the Muslims to cover their faces with a part of their cloaks; this is closer to their being recognised and not being harassed; and Allah is Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful. (It is incumbent upon women to cover themselves properly.) 59 ۞ If the hypocrites and those who have tainted hearts and the scandal mongers of Madinah do not desist, We shall surely give you authority over them and their days in that city will be numbered. 60 They shall have a curse on them: whenever they are found, they shall be seized and slain (without mercy). 61 That was the Way of Allah in the case of those who passed away of old, and you will not find any change in the Way of Allah. 62 People will ask you about the Hour. Say, "God alone has knowledge of it. Who knows? The Hour may well be near at hand." 63 Indeed, Allah has cursed the disbelievers and prepared for them a Blaze. 64 Wherein they will abide for ever. They will find (then) no protecting friend nor helper. 65 The day their faces would be turned on the fire (as on a spit), they will say: "Alas! If only we had obeyed God, and obeyed the Prophet." 66 They will say: "O our Lord, we obeyed our leaders and the elders, but they only led us astray. 67 Our Lord! give them double torment and curse them with a mighty curse!" 68
