Kneeling (Al-Jaatheyah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Ha-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. 1 The revelation of the Book is from Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise. 2 Surely in the heavens and earth there are signs for the believers; 3 and in your creation, and in the crawling things that He has scattered far and near, there are signs for a nation whose belief is certain, 4 and in the succession of night and day, and in the means of subsistence which God sends down from the skies, giving life thereby to the earth after it had been lifeless, and in the circulation of the winds: [in all this] there are signs for people who use their reason. 5 Such are the verses of Allah. We recite them to you in truth. So in what speech, after Allah and His signs, will they believe? 6 Woe unto every liar, sinner! 7 Who hears the verses of Allah recited to him, then persists arrogantly as if he had not heard them. So give him tidings of a painful punishment. 8 Whenever he comes to know anything of Our Signs, he makes them an object of jest. For such there awaits a humiliating chastisement. 9 Behind them Gehenna; and that they have earned shall not avail them aught, nor those they took as protectors, apart from God; for them awaits a mighty chastisement. 10 This is guidance. Those who deny the revelations of their Lord will suffer a dreadful doom. 11
