Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
WE SENT NOAH to his people to warn them before the painful punishment came upon them. 1 He said, "O my people, indeed I am to you a clear warner, 2 saying, "Serve God, and fear Him, and obey you me, 3 “He will forgive you some of your sins, and give you respite up to an appointed term; indeed the promise of Allah cannot be averted when it arrives; if only you knew.” 4 He said: "O my Lord! I have called to my People night and day: 5 And my calling hath only increased them in fleeing. 6 And whenever I have called them that Thou mayest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, cover themselves with their garments, and persist and are puffed up with pride: 7 Then I called them loudly and more openly, 8 “Then I also told them publicly and also spoke to them softly in private.” 9 and I said: "'Ask your Sustainer to forgive you your sins - for, verily, He is all-forgiving! 10 and He will loose heaven upon you in torrents 11 increase your wealth and sons; and grant you gardens and waterways. 12 What is the matter with you that you fear not the greatness of Allah? 13 Knowing that He has created you by various stages? 14 "'Do you not see how God has created seven heavens in full harmony with one another, 15 And made the moon therein a light, and made the sun a lamp? 16 Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth, 17 and [then] He will bring you forth [from It] in resurrection. 18 And Allah hath made the earth a wide expanse for you 19 so that you walk in its spacious paths.' 20
