Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 But when sight is confounded 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
