The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars fall, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
