S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Sad. CONSIDER this Qur'an, endowed with all that one ought to remember! 1 But the unbelievers are still full of pride and hostility. 2 How many a generation have We destroyed before their time [for this very sin]! And [how] they called [unto Us] when it was too late to escape! 3 And they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves, and the disbelievers say: This is an enchanter, a liar. 4 Has he made the gods one single God? This is truly astounding.” 5 And their leading chiefs said: "Remain attached to your gods. There is surely some motive behind it. 6 We have heard nothing like this in the latest religion. This is only his own false invention. 7 Has this Exhortation been sent down among us only to him, to the exclusion of all others?” Nay, they are in doubt regarding My Exhortation, and are saying all this because they have not yet had any taste of My chastisement. 8 Or do they [think that they] own the treasures of thy Sustainer's grace - [the grace] of the Almighty, the Giver of Gifts? 9 Or is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, theirs? Then let them climb up the ladders (to the heavens). 10 this host too, among other hosts, is bound to suffer defeat. 11 Even before them the people of Noah, 'Ad, the mighty Pharoah, 12 Thamood, the nation of Lot and the dwellers of the Thicket such were the confederates. 13 Not one (of them) but rejected the messengers, but My punishment came justly and inevitably (on them). 14
