The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the great event comes to pass, 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking, 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 You will become three categories: 7 Those of the right hand -- how (happy) will be those of the right hand! 8 And there shall be such as will have lost themselves in evil: oh, how [unhappy] will be they who have lost themselves in evil! 9 And those who surpassed have indeed excelled. 10 Those! they shall be the brought nigh, 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 On thrones woven [with ornament], 15 Reclining face to face. 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 a drink by which their minds will not be clouded nor will it cause drunkenness; 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 And meat of birds that they may wish. 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 The likenesses of pearls well-protected, 23 As reward for what they used to do. 24 No empty talk will they hear there, nor any call to sin, 25 Only a saying: "Peace, peace." 26 The Companions of the Right 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 and acacias flower-clad, 29 and spreading shade 30 Gushing water, 31 And fruit in plenty 32 unfailing and not forbidden. 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 Loving, equals in age, 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
