And verily, the dwellers of Al-Hijr (the rocky tract) denied the Messengers. 80 for We did vouchsafe them Our messages, but they obstinately turned their backs upon them 81 And they were hewing out houses from mountains feeling secure. 82 But As-Saihah (torment - awful cry etc.) overtook them in the early morning (of the fourth day of their promised punishment days). 83 and of no avail to them was all [the power] that they had acquired. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, for a genuine purpose. The Day of Judgment will certainly approach, so (Muhammad) forgive them graciously. 85 verily, thy Sustainer is the all-knowing Creator of all things! 86 We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated, and the mighty Koran. 87 Do not strain your eyes after what We have given certain classes of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and make yourself gentle to the believers. 88 and say, "I am, indeed, a plain warner," 89 As We have sent down on the dividers, (Quraish pagans or Jews and Christians). 90 and who have broken the Scripture into fragments -- 91 By the Lord, We will hold them all responsible 92 for what they have done 93 Proclaim openly what you are commanded, and avoid the polytheists. 94 We suffice thee against the mockers, 95 Who make [equal] with Allah another deity. But they are going to know. 96 And indeed We know that you are disheartened by their speech. 97 So exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate [to Him]. 98 and worship thy Sustainer till death comes to thee. 99
