Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha Mim 1 By the Book that makes things clear,- 2 We have indeed sent it as a Qur’an in the Arabic language, so that you may understand. 3 Truly, it is inscribed in the Original Book, in Our keeping; it is sublime and full of wisdom. 4 Should We divert this Good Counsel from you because you are a people immersed in extravagance? 5 We have sent many a prophet to earlier peoples 6 And not a prophet came unto them but him they were wont to mock. 7 Then We destroyed those who were stronger than these in prowess, and the case of the ancients has gone before, 8 If you ask them: "Who created the heavens and the earth?" they will answer: "The Mighty and All-knowing created them," 9 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and appointed ways for you therein, that haply you may be guided; 10 And who sends down rain from the sky in measured amounts, and We revive thereby a dead land - thus will you be brought forth - 11 And the One Who created all pairs, and made the ships and cattle as rides for you. 12 so that you can sit upon their backs and then remember the Favors of your Lord and say: 'Exaltations to Him who has subjected these to us otherwise, we ourselves were not capable of it, 13 And lo! unto our Lord we surely are returning. 14 And they assign to Him a part of His servants; man, to be sure, is clearly ungrateful. 15
