Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
O YOU ENWRAPPED in the cloak (of Prophethood), 1 Stand (to pray) all night, except a little. 2 It may be half the night or a little less than that 3 or a little more, but recite the Quran slowly and distinctly. 4 Behold, We shall bestow upon thee a weighty message 5 Surely in the watches of the night the soul is most receptive and words more telling. 6 You are indeed much occupied during the day with the affairs of the world. 7 So remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with exclusive devotion. 8 (He is) Lord of the East and the West: there is no god but He: take Him therefore for (thy) Disposer of Affairs. 9 And bear patiently what they say and avoid them with a becoming avoidance. 10 Leave the prosperous disbelievers to Me and give them respite for a little while; 11 Verily with Us are heavy fetters and Scorch. 12 food that chokes and painful punishment 13 On that day, the earth and the mountains will be violently shaken, and the mountains will be turned into heaps of moving sand. 14 Verily, We have sent to you (O men) a Messenger (Muhammad SAW) to be a witness over you, as We did send a Messenger [Musa (Moses)] to Fir'aun (Pharaoh). 15 But Pharoah rebelled against the messenger, so We seized him with a strong, crushing grip. 16 If you, disbelieve, how will you be able to protect yourselves from the hardships of the day which would even turn children grey-headed? 17 Whereon the heaven will be cleft asunder? His Promise is certainly to be accomplished. 18 Verily, this is an admonition, therefore whosoever will, let him take a Path to His Lord! 19
