Smoke (Al-Dukhaan)
59 verses, revealed in Mecca after Vanity (Al-Zukhruf) before Kneeling (Al-Jaatheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 By the Clear Book 2 (That) We sent it down one night of blessing -- so that We could warn -- 3 During it are distributed all the works of wisdom. 4 By command, from Our Presence. For We (ever) send (revelations), 5 A mercy from your Lord. Verily He is all-hearing and all-knowing, 6 Lord of the heavens and the earth and that between them, if you would be certain. 7 There is no god other than He, who gives you life and death, your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of old. 8 Yet they are in doubt, playing. 9 Then watch thou for the Day that the sky will bring forth a kind of smoke (or mist) plainly visible, 10 Covering the people, this shall be a torment afflictive. 11 Then they will say, "Lord, relieve us from this torment, for truly we are now believers in You." 12 But how will they avail themselves of the Reminder, when a clear Messenger had already come to them 13 yet they turned away from him and said: “This is a well-tutored madman.” 14 Verily, We shall remove the torment for a while. Verily! You will revert. 15 On the Day when We shall seize you with the greatest grasp. Verily, We will exact retribution. 16 ۞ And before them We indeed tried the people of Firaun, and an Honourable Noble Messenger came to them. 17 "Give in unto me, O God's bondmen! Verily, I am an apostle [sent] unto you, worthy of trust! 18 "And exalt not yourselves against God: for, verily, I come unto you with a manifest authority [from Him]; 19 "For me, I have sought safety with my Lord and your Lord, against your injuring me. 20 If you do not believe in me, leave me alone." 21 Then he called upon his Lord: these are a people guilty. 22 We commanded him, “Journey with My bondmen in a part of the night you will be pursued.” 23 (Cross and) leave the sea undisturbed. The (pursuing) hosts will surely be drowned," 24 How many were the gardens and springs they left behind, 25 And the cornlands and the goodly sites 26 And goodly things wherein they rejoiced; 27 Thus. And We caused to inherit it another people. 28 Neither heaven nor earth shed tears for them; nor were they respited, 29

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
