Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The indubitable event! 1 How tremendous is the true event! 2 And what do you know what that indubitable event is? 3 The people of Thamud and Ad denied the Day of Judgment. 4 So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. 7 Now dost thou see any remnant of them? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. 10 Verily! When the water rose beyond its limits [Nuh's (Noah) Flood], We carried you (mankind) in the floating [ship that was constructed by Nuh (Noah)]. 11 That We might make it a memorial for you, and that remembering ears (that heard the story) might remember. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- 14 On that day, the inevitable event will take place 15 The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. 18 Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! 19 Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." 20 Then he shall find himself in a life of bliss; 21 in a lofty Garden, 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record 25 and not known my reckoning! 26 I wish death had put an end to me. 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 Lay hold of him and chain him; 30 Then cast him into the burning fire, 31 Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him. 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 nor did he urge the feeding of the needy. 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, 36 None shall eat it but the sinners. 37

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
