Noah said: “My Lord, they did not pay heed to what I said, and followed those (nobles) whose possession of wealth and children has led them to an even greater loss. 21 and have devised a mighty device 22 and they said [to their followers], "Do not ever abandon your deities: abandon neither Wadd, nor Suwa', and neither Yaghuth, nor Yauq nor Nasr!" 23 "They have already misled many; and grant Thou no increase to the wrong-doers but in straying (from their mark)." 24 And so, because of their sins, they were drowned [in the great flood,] and were doomed to suffer the fire [of the hereafter]; and they found none who could succour them against God. 25 Noah said, "Lord, do not leave a single disbeliever on earth; 26 Verily if Thou shouldst leave them, they will mislead Thine bondmen and will beget not save sinning infidels, 27 O Lord, forgive me, my parents, and any one who enters my house as a believer, and all believing men and women, and do not give the evil-doers increase save in ruin. 28
