Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
