۞ IT IS HE who has created you [all] out of one living entity, and out of it brought into being its mate, so that man might incline [with love] towards woman. And so, when he has embraced her, she conceives [what at first is] a light burden, and continues to bear it. Then, when she grows heavy [with child,] they both call unto God, their Sustainer, "If Thou indeed grant us a sound [child,] we shall most certainly be among the grateful!" 189 But when He gives them a good [child], they ascribe partners to Him concerning that which He has given them. Exalted is Allah above what they associate with Him. 190 Do they indeed ascribe to Him as partners things that can create nothing, but are themselves created? 191 No aid can they give them, nor can they aid themselves! 192 If you call them to guidance, they will not follow you. It is the same whether you call them or you are silent. 193 Indeed those whom you (the disbelievers) worship besides Allah are slaves like you – so call them and they may answer you, if you are truthful! 194 Do they have feet by which they walk? Or do they have hands by which they strike? Or do they have eyes by which they see? Or do they have ears by which they hear? Say, [O Muhammad], "Call your 'partners' and then conspire against me and give me no respite. 195 “Indeed my Protector is Allah Who has sent down the Book; and He befriends the righteous.” 196 And those whom you invoke other than Allah, they can neither help themselves nor you. 197 And if you call them to guidance they do not listen; and you (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) observe them looking towards you, whereas they do not perceive anything. 198 Cultivate tolerance, enjoin justice, and avoid the fools. 199 If an evil impulse from Satan provokes you, seek refuge with God; He is all hearing, and all knowing. 200 Those who fear Allah, when a thought of evil from Satan assaults them, bring Allah to remembrance, when lo! they see (aright)! 201 even though their [godless] brethren would [like to] draw them into error: and then they cannot fail [to do what is right]. 202 And when you, [O Muhammad], do not bring them a sign, they say, "Why have you not contrived it?" Say, "I only follow what is revealed to me from my Lord. This [Qur'an] is enlightenment from your Lord and guidance and mercy for a people who believe." 203 And when the Qur'an is recited, give ear to it and pay heed, that ye may obtain mercy. 204 And remember your Lord within yourself humbly and fearing and in a voice not loud in the morning and the evening and be not of the heedless ones. 205 Surely, those who are with your Lord (angels) are never too proud to perform acts of worship to Him, but they glorify His Praise and prostrate before Him. ۩ 206
