We created man from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape; 26 and the jinn We had created before from flaming fire. 27 And recall what time thy Lord said unto the angels: verily I am about to create a man from ringing clay of loam moulded. 28 When I have formed him and breathed My spirit into him, fall down in prostration before him," 29 then the angels all prostrated themselves together. 30 except iblis (father of the jinn) who refused to be one of those who prostrated themselves. 31 God asked Iblis, "What made you not join the others in prostration?" 32 He said it was not for me that I should prostrate myself unto a human being whom Thou hast created from ringing clay of loam moulded. 33 Said Allah, “Therefore exit from Paradise, for you are an outcast.” 34 and there shall be a curse upon you till the Day of Recompense." 35 He said: My Lord! then respite me till the time when they are raised. 36 (Allah) said: "Respite is granted thee 37 “Till the Day of a well-known time.” 38 He said: my Lord! because Thou hast led me to err I will surely make things fairseeming unto them on the earth and will surely seduce them all: 39 [all] save such of them as are truly Thy servants!" 40 Said He, 'This is for Me a straight path: 41 "For over My servants no authority shalt thou have, except such as put themselves in the wrong and follow thee." 42 Surely, Hell is the place to which they are destined, 43 There are seven gates in it, and to each gate a portion of them has been allotted. 44
