۞ Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship 22 apart from God, and guide them unto the path of Hell! 23 And stop them, for they shall be questioned: 24 'Why do you not help one another? 25 Nay, but on that Day they would willingly surrender [to God]; 26 And they will turn to one another and question one another. 27 They will say: verily ye! ye were wont to come unto us Imposing. 28 They will say: “Nay, you yourselves were not the ones who would believe. 29 And we had no authority over you, but you were an inordinate people; 30 So the word of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment]. 31 We seduced you astray; verily we were ourselves the seduced ones. 32 So, they will become partners in punishment. 33 As such We shall deal with the evildoers. 34 They were those who, when it was said to them, "There is no god but God," behaved with insolence, 35 and said: 'Are we to renounce our gods for the sake of a mad poet' 36 No, indeed, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the Messengers. 37 Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment, 38 and not be recompensed, except according to what you were doing.' 39 Save the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 40 for them awaits a known provision, 41 Fruits (Delights); and they (shall enjoy) honour and dignity, 42 in the Gardens of Bliss. 43 on couches facing each other. 44 A cup will be passed round among them [with a drink] from unsullied springs, 45 white and delicious to those who drink it, 46 but not harmful or intoxicating. 47 They will have with them loving wives with big black and white eyes 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 They will turn to one another with questions: 50 One of them speaks thus: "Behold, I had [on earth] a close companion 51 who would say, "Are you a confirmer? 52 "'When we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed receive rewards and punishments?'" 53 And he will reply: 'Are you looking down (into Hell)' 54 Then, he will look and see him in the midst of Hell. 55 He said, “By Allah, you had nearly ruined me!” 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought forth (to Hell)." 57 What, do we then not die 58 Save our first death, and are we not to be tormented? 59 This is certainly the greatest triumph 60 For the like of this let all strive, who wish to strive. 61 Is this better or the tree of Zaqqum 62 Verily We! We have made it a temptation for the wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that comes forth in the root of Hell; 64 Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils. 65 Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 then on top of it they have a brew of boiling water, 67 And once again: Verily, the blazing fire is their ultimate goal 68 These are the ones who found their fathers steeped in error, 69 So they (too) made haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 Most of the ancient people had also gone astray. 71 And indeed We had sent Heralds of warnings among them. 72 Therefore see what sort of fate befell those who were warned! 73 Except the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah. 74
