Has there come to you information about the honored guests of Ibrahim? 24 When they entered upon him, they said: Peace. Peace, said he, a strange people. 25 Then he turned quietly to his household, and brought forth a fat [roasted] calf, 26 And he set it before them, and said: wherefore eat ye not? 27 He began to feel afraid. They said, "Do not be afraid," and then gave him the glad news of the birth of a knowledgeable son. 28 Then came forward his wife, clamouring, and she smote her face, and said, 'An old woman, barren!' 29 They said: “So has your Lord said (that you shall have a boy). Surely He is Most Wise, All-Knowing.” 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "What is your errand, O messengers?" 31 They said: verily we are sent unto a people, guilty. 32 That we may send down upon them stone of clay, 33 marked by your Lord upon those who go beyond the limits.” 34 Thus We brought forth from therein who were believers. 35 but We found not therein except one house of those that have surrendered themselves. 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the afflictive torment. 37 And also in Moses, when We sent him unto Pharaoh, with a clear authority, 38 But he turned to his counsellors, and said: "He is a magician or lunatic." 39 So We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame. 40 And in Aad. We let loose on them a withering wind 41 It left nothing whatever that it came up against, but reduced it to ruin and rottenness. 42 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Thamud. They were told: “Enjoy yourselves for a while.” 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on. 44 And they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves. 45 And the people of Noah before; surely they were an ungodly people. 46
