Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ BLESSED BE HE who holds the (reins of) Kingship in His hand, who has power over everything, 1 He Who created Death and Life, that He may try which of you is best in deed: and He is the Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving;- 2 [Hallowed be] He who has created seven heavens in full harmony with one another: no fault will thou see in the creation of the Most Gracious. And turn thy vision [upon it] once more: canst thou see any flaw? 3 Then repeat thy look twice over, and thy look will return unto thee dim and it will have become wearied out. 4 And indeed We have beautified the lower heaven with lamps, and have made them weapons against the devils, and have kept prepared for them the punishment of the blazing fire. 5 For those who have disbelieved in their Lord, We have prepared the torment of hell, the most terrible place to return. 6 When they will be cast into it, they will hear it roar as it boils, 7 Almost bursting with fury: Every time a Group is cast therein, its Keepers will ask, "Did no Warner come to you?" 8 They say, 'Yes indeed, a warner came to us; but we cried lies, saying, "God has not sent down anything; you are only in great error. 9 And they will say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we would not have been among the dwellers of the blazing Fire!" 10 They will confess to their sins, but the dwellers of hell will be far away from God's (mercy). 11 Indeed, those who fear their Lord unseen will have forgiveness and great reward. 12 And whether ye hide your word or publish it, He certainly has (full) knowledge, of the secrets of (all) hearts. 13 Would He not know, He Who has created, when He is All-Subtle, All-Aware? 14
