Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 and that everyone shall have in his account only that which he worked for, 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 And that He destroyed the first [people of] 'Aad 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 He plunged the villages 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
