He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because a blind man came to him. 2 But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified 3 Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? 4 But the self-sufficient, 5 To him you give attention. 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 but as for him who came unto thee full of eagerness 8 And he feareth 9 you ignore him. 10 Not this way this is the advice. 11 So whoever wills may remember it. 12 (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, 13 exalted, purified, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 noble and purified. 16 Perish Man! How unthankful he is! 17 Of what did He create him? 18 From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; 19 He makes his path easy for him. 20 Then causeth him to die, and burieth him; 21 Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again. 22 Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him. 23 Let Man consider his nourishment. 24 That We watered it in abundance. 25 Then We cleave the earth, cleaving (it) asunder, 26 And produce therein corn, 27 And grapes and fodder, 28 and olive trees and date palms 29 thickly planted gardens, 30 And fruits and fodder: 31 (These are made so as to be) means of enjoyment for you and your cattle. 32 When the trumpet sounds, 33 That Day shall a man flee from his brother, 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 And his wife and his sons; 36 on that Day every man among them will have enough concern of his own -- 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 Laughing and full of joy, 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 Blackness overcoming them. 41 These will be the faces of the sinful disbelievers. 42
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
