Thorns (Al-Masad)
5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he. 1 What will his wealth avail him, and all that he has gained? 2 Anon he shall roast into Fire having flame. 3 And his wife too, who carries wood (thorns of Sadan which she used to put on the way of the Prophet (Peace be upon him), or use to slander him). 4 upon her neck shall be a rope of palm-fibre. 5
God the Almighty always says the truth.
