[Allah said], "O messengers, eat from the good foods and work righteousness. Indeed, I, of what you do, am Knowing. 51 And indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me." 52 But they split in their affair between them into sects, each party rejoicing in what is with them. 53 So leave them in their error till a time. 54 Think they that in the wealth and sons wherewith We provide them 55 We hasten unto them with good things? Nay, but they perceive not. 56 Surely those who tremble in fear of their Lord 57 And those who believe in the communications of their Lord, 58 who associate none with their Lord, 59 And those who dispense their charity with their hearts full of fear, because they will return to their Lord;- 60 to God, these are the ones who really compete with each other in virtuous deeds and are the foremost ones in the task. 61 And We task not any soul except according to its capacity, and with Us is a book speaking with truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 On the contrary, their hearts are in neglect of this and their works are different than those of the believers, the works that they are doing. 63 But when We seize with the punishment those of them that live in ease, they groan. 64 Cry not for succor this day; surely you shall not be given help from Us. 65 Surely My signs have been rehearsed unto you, and upon your heel ye were wont to draw back. 66 behaving arrogantly, and making fun, and talking nonsense (about the Book in your nightly chats)." 67 Have they not pondered the saying, or came there upon them that which came not upon their fathers, the ancients? 68 Or is it, perchance, that they have not recognized their Apostle, and so they disavow him? 69 Or they say, “He is afflicted by a demon”; in fact he brought the Truth to them, and most of them dislike the Truth. 70 Had the truth followed their fancies, the heavens, the earth, and all who live in them would have surely been corrupted. No, We brought them their Remembrance; but from their Remembrance they turn away. 71 Or is it that you ask them a recompense? But the recompense of your Lord is best, and He is the best of those who provide sustenance. 72 And indeed, you invite them to a straight path. 73 And lo! those who believe not in the Hereafter are indeed astray from the path. 74 ۞ And though We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, still they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 And indeed We seized them with punishment, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor did they invoke (Allah) with submission to Him. 76 So that when at last We open up the gate of severe punishment on them they will be overwhelmed with despair. 77
