The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And the close of night, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
