The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O Man! Thou art labouring unto thy Lord laboriously, and thou shalt encounter Him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 And be thrown to scorching fire. 12 Once, he lived joyfully among his family 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
