Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 And by oath of the One Who created the male and the female. 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil), 5 And believed the best matter to be true 6 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Bliss. 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 And who belieth the Good, 9 We shall surely ease for him the Path of Hardship (the Fire). 10 His riches will not save him when he perisheth. 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 Therefore do I warn you of a Fire blazing fiercely; 14 No one will burn in it but the most wretched, 15 He who denieth and turneth away. 16 But save him who fears 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 not as payment for favours received, 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 He verily will be content. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
