Indeed this is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe; 192 It has been revealed through the trustworthy Spirit 193 to your heart that you might become one of those who warn (others on behalf of Allah), 194 (a revelation) in clear Arabic language, 195 Truly, it is in the Books of the ancients. 196 Was it not a sign for them, that it is known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 (But such is their adamance) that had We revealed it to one of the non-Arabs and even if he had recited (this clear Arabic discourse) to them 198 And had he recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus it passes through the hearts of the criminals. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 It shall come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; 202 They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" 203 Do they wish Us then to hasten the punishment? 204 Beholdest thou? if We let them enjoy for years. 205 and then what they were promised comes to them, 206 (How) that wherewith they were contented naught availeth them? 207 Never a city We destroyed, but it had warners 208 By way of admonition, and We have never been oppressors. 209 It was not the satans who brought it down: 210 It would neither suit them nor would they be able (to produce it). 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 Hence, [O man,] do not invoke any other deity side by side with God, lest thou find thyself among those who are made to suffer [on Judgment Day]. 213 And warn your near relations, 214 and extend kindness and affection to those of the believers who follow you. 215 And if they disobey thee, say thou: verily I am quit of that which ye work. 216 Put your trust in the Almighty, the Most Merciful, 217 Who watches you when you stand up. 218 And your movement among those who prostrate. 219 Surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the Satans come down? 221 They descend upon every calumniator, sinner. 222 (Into whose ears) they pour hearsay vanities, and most of them are liars. 223 Only the erring people follow the poets. 224 Do you not see that they wander about bewildered in every valley? 225 And that they say that which they do not? 226 Except those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds, and remember Allah much, and reply back (in poetry) to the unjust poetry (which the pagan poets utter against the Muslims). And those who do wrong will come to know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
