Hizb 46
< random >
And verily Yunus was of the sent ones. 139 When he fled unto the laden ship, 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was among the losers, 141 Then a (big) fish swallowed him and he had done an act worthy of blame. 142 Had he not glorified God, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish until the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore while he was sick, 145 and We caused a pumpkin tree to grow over him. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand or more people. 147 and they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 (Muhammad), ask them, "Do daughters belong to your Lord and sons to them? 149 Or did We create the angels females, while they were witnesses? 150 Lo! verily it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 Did He choose daughters rather than sons? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Will ye not then be admonished? 155 Or have you received some clear authority? 156 Then bring your book, if you are truthful. 157 And they have made between Him and the jinn a kinship whereas the jinn assuredly know that they are to be brought up 158 God is far above what they attribute to Him, 159 except for the sincere worshipers of Allah. 160 for, verily, neither you [blasphemers] nor the objects of your worship 161 Ye cannot excite (anyone) against Him. 162 unless it be such as rushes towards the blazing fire [of his own accord]! 163 The angels say, "Each of us has an appointed place. 164 Lo! we, even we are they who set the ranks, 165 And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah." 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 "If we had had with us a Book like that of the people of old, 168 "We would have indeed been the chosen slaves of Allah (true believers of Islamic Monotheism)!" 169 Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. 170 And verily Our word went forth of old unto Our bondmen sent (to warn) 171 Most surely they shall be the assisted ones 172 and that Our hosts shall triumph. 173 So, (O Prophet), leave them alone for a while, 174 And watch them (how they fare), and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 When it descends on their courtyards, how terrible that morning will be for those who were warned! 177 Leave them alone for a while, 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! 180 And peace be unto the sent ones. 181 It is only God, the Lord of the Universe, who deserves all praise. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
