(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
