The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 has created man, 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
