Say thou: I am but warner, and there is no god but Allah, the One, the Subduer. 65 the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the Almighty, the All-Forgiving!" 66 Say, "It is great news 67 Whence ye turn away! 68 I have no knowledge of the dispute among the angels (concerning their attitude towards Adam). 69 This alone is revealed to me, that I am only a clear warner.' 70 When your Lord told the angels, "I will create a mortal out of clay, 71 When I have shaped him, and breathed My spirit in him, fall you down, bowing before him!' 72 So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together: 73 But not Iblis: he was proud and he was one of the unbelievers. 74 Said He: "O Iblis! What has kept thee from prostrating thyself before that [being] which I have created with My hands? Art thou too proud [to bow down before another created being,] or art thou of those who think [only] of themselves as high?" 75 (Iblis) said: "I am better than he: thou createdst me from fire, and him thou createdst from clay." 76 (God) said: "Then go hence, ostracised. 77 Upon thee shall rest My curse, till the Day of Doom.' 78 He said: "O Lord, give me respite till the day the dead rise from their graves." 79 Said He, 'Thou art among the ones that are respited 80 until the day of the known time.' 81 He (satan) said: 'I swear by Your Might, that I will seduce all of them 82 Save Thy bondmen among them Sincere. 83 Said Allah, “So this is the truth; and I speak only the truth.” – 84 Most certainly will I fill hell with thee and such of them as shall follow thee, all together!" 85 Say (O Muhammad, unto mankind): I ask of you no fee for this, and I am no simulating. 86 This is only a warning for mankind. 87 You will know the truth of the matter after a while.” 88
