Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 and the burden-bearers 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 Those who (flounder) heedless in a flood of confusion: 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
